SARAJEVO, March 6 (Hina) - The office of the international High
Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Carl Bildt, and the International
Police Task Force on Thursday welcomed reports of the removal from duty of
four Croat policemen in west Mostar blamed for the incident of February 10,
but warned that they still had received no official confirmation.
IPTF spokesman Liam McDowell said in Sarajevo that the IPTF command
only had press reports of the suspension of west-Mostar police commander
Marko Radic and three other officers for whom an investigation had shown
that they had overstepped their authority and caused the incident in which
one person had been killed and about 20 wounded.
We welcome the news that a new police commander in west Mostar has
been appointed as well as new signs that the situation is improving,
spokesman for the High Representative's office Colum Murphy said.
