Present at the talks with former Austrian vice-chancellor
Busek will be experts of the UN Economy Commission for Europe, who
are to provide expert and technical support and follow the
realization of investment and development projects which are to be
initiated as part of SECI.
At the first session of SECI on 5 and 6 December 1996, Croatia
and Slovenia did not join the Initiative because of the need for
additional consultations and accord among competent ministries and
state organs.
It was announced in Geneva that US State Secretary Madeleine
Albright and Ambassador Richard Schifter are to visit Zagreb and
Ljubljana on 14 and 15 January to provide government officials from
both countries additional information about the significance and
goals of SECI.
The first appearance of SECI in international business circles
has been envisaged for 2 and 3 February, as part of the annual
meeting of the World Economy Forum which is to take place in the
Swiss town of Davos.
