SARAJEVO, Dec 30 (Hina) - The Muslim member of the Bosnian
Presidency, Alija Izetbegovic, on Wednesday said he was not
satisfied with the relations his country currently had with
Croatia, denying at the same time every responsibility of the
Muslim side for the existing situation.
"I am not satisfied with Croatia's policy towards Bosnia-
Herzegovina", Izetbegovic told a press conference in Sarajevo in
his capacity as president of the leading Bosniak Party of
Democratic Action (SDA).
Elaborating his standpoint, Izetbegovic said Croatia had been
sending its army to Bosnia-Herzegovina, financing the Croatian
Defence Council (HVO), and supporting the establishment and
maintenance of Herzeg-Bosnia.
"I am also dissatisfied with Tudjman's speech at the opening of a
military academy in Zagreb as well as with the one held in Orasje...
problems however are in Croatia, while we have been doing all in our
power to improve the mutual relations", Izetbegovic said.
The SDA president said he expected "democratic changes" in Croatia,
which should then reflect on the bilateral relations as well as on
the situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Commenting on the Bosnian-Yugoslav relations, Izetbegovic said
they were practically frozen, because no diplomatic relations had
been established. According to Izetbegovic, the reason for that was
that Belgrade was making the establishment of diplomatic relations
conditional upon the withdrawal of aggression charges Bosnia
pressed against Yugoslavia at the International Court of Justice.
"Because of this we have to face economic consequences since our
economies are complementary. Regardless of that, we will not
withdraw the charges", Izetbegovic said, stressing that the
diplomatic relations with Belgrade could be established only
without setting any conditions.
