CROATIA SATISFIED WITH MADRID CONFERENCE

MADRID, Dec 16 (Hina) - Croatia can be satisfied with the conference of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) for Bosnia-Herzegovina because it has had a chance to relay its contributions to the peace process in Bosnia-Herzegovina, as it has for the first time not been mentioned in a negative context, but has been commended in certain cases, Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic said Wednesday after the end of the conference in Madrid. Croatia has a reason to be satisfied due to the fact that the problem of Martin Brod has been solved through diplomacy, and that it will be resolved by a joint Croatian-Bosniak inter-state border commission, and has in that form entered the final declaration. Granic said Croatia has only just begun to solve the issue of borders with Bosnia-Herzegovina, and the whole process would be completed by the signing of an agreement, while all moot issues would be solved in a package. As part of bilateral meetings in Madrid, Granic met Yugoslav Foreign Minister Zivadin Jovanovic and discussed a number of issues: from the opening of general consulates in both countries, the opening of air corridors, the protection of minorities, economic cooperation to succession issues.
