SARAJEVO, Nov 25 (Hina) - Croatia's Ambassador to Bosnia on
Wednesday held talks with the international high representative
for Bosnia, discussing the two agreements Croatia signed with
Bosnia and its Croat-Muslim Federation in Zagreb last Sunday.
According to a statement from the Croatian Embassy in Sarajevo,
Ambassador Darinko Bago agreed with high representative Carlos
Westendorp's assessment that the signing of the two agreements was
an outstandingly constructive step forward towards stronger
relations between Croatia and the Federation.
With the Federation, Croatia signed an agreement on special
relations, while the agreement with Bosnia regulates Bosnia's use
of the Croatian port of Ploce and Croatia's passage through Bosnian
territory in Neum.
The Croatian Embassy statement pointed out the agreements were
especially important for Bosnian Croats, for the affirmation of
their security and guaranteed equality which, the statement added,
was a good basis for stronger relations within the entire Bosnia.
Ambassador Bago welcomed an announcement of Westendorp's Office's
lasting support to the conclusion of annexes which will make
cooperation between Croatia and the Federation concrete.
Westendorp was interested in the rights of the Bosniak Muslim
minority in Croatia. Bago said Croatia had resolved the national
minorities issue in line with the highest standards in Europe and
the world.
