PRISTINA, Dec 8 (Hina) - The Serbian regime violated all categories
of human rights and freedoms during November, the Kosovo Human
Rights Committee said in a report released on Tuesday.
Twenty-three Albanians were killed and massacred only in November.
The bodies of another 20 Kosovo Albanians, killed during the
earlier Serbian offensives, were discovered during the last month,
the same source said.
According to the Committee, 11 Albanians were severely injured
during the last month, while 821 Albanians were victims of
maltreatment, including 27 women, 21 children and 23 elderly
persons. Seventy-three persons were abducted and are held missing,
while 50 Albanians received long-term prison punishment for
'terrorism', the Committee reported.
Despite the agreement on the withdrawal of forces, the Serbian
forces have still not withdrawn from many areas of Kosovo and new
troops have been sent in, which intensifies the already existing
tensions, the Committee said in the report which was sent to several
international human rights organisations.
The killing of another 14 Albanians in the first days of December
bears witness to the severity of the situation in Kosovo, the
Committee concluded.
