Hungarian President Arpad Goencz.
The two Croatian politicians are paying a two-day official visit to
Budapest, at the invitation of the Hungarian Opposition party SzDSz
- the Alliance of Free Democrats.
The incumbent Hungarian President is one of the founders of the
party, which, in coalition with the Socialists, was in power
between 1994 and May this year.
According to Gotovac, the meeting focused on the cooperation
between Croatia and Hungary, their attitude towards Europe and the
role Hungary could play in Croatia's efforts to access European
associations as soon as possible.
Goencz expressed Hungary's readiness to develop good relations
with Croatia and support it on its road to Europe.
The two sides also discussed Croatia's role in the final solution of
the Bosnian crisis and its possible role in solving the Kosovo
crisis, as well as party issues.
