constituent session of the Bosnia-Herzegovina Parliament House of
Peoples.
The state House of Peoples in Sarajevo today confirmed mandates for
14 out of 15 representatives who have been delegated to that body by
the BH Federation and Republika Srpska parliaments.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina Parliament's House of Peoples includes five
MPs each from among the three constituent peoples. At its last
session, the Federation Parliament decided that Croats be
represented by four MPs from the Croatian Democratic Union of
Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) and one from the Croatian Party of
Rights (HSP).
The Office of the High Representative (OHR) for implementation of
the Dayton peace agreement and the Organisation for Security and
Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) have rejected the appointment of the
HSP candidate requesting that the fifth Croat representative be
from the New Croat Initiative (NHI) as the second Croat runner up
in the September elections.
HDZ MP Vladimir Soljic was elected the first president of the state
Parliament House of Peoples.
