WESTENDORP HOLDS TALKS WITH BOSNIAN CROAT REPRESENTATIVES

SARAJEVO, Nov 27 (Hina) - The High Representative for the Implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, Carlos Westendorp on Friday met with Bosnia-Herzegovina's presidency member, Ante Jelavic and Foreign Minister Jadranko Prlic about the peace process. "We agreed that we have to do our best so that Croats in BH become active members of events in the country. We from the international community are prepared to help", said Westendorp to reporters on concluding his speech. According to the High Representative, preparations for the upcoming Madrid meeting for the Council for the implementation of the peace agreement was the key topic during the talks, although specific problems in Cantons were also discussed. Westendorp confirmed his request that amongst the 5 Croat representatives in BH's House of Peoples, one position be vacated for a non Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ-BH) representative. "Croat representatives in the House of People's have to hold election results", said the High Representative. The Croatian delegation could not confirm whether a concrete decision had been made concerning this issue. (hina) ab/SP
