BELGRAD, Nov 27 (Hina) - Witnesses in the Dinko Sakic case from
Serbia will not testify in Zagreb's County Court regardless of an
appeal sent by the Yugoslav Justice Ministry several days ago.
Friday's issue of the Yugoslav daily "Politika" read that four
Yugoslav citizens who received the Zagreb County Court's subpoenas
to testify in criminal procedure against Dinko Sakic, were willing
to testify but not in Zagreb.
Dinko Sakic was a former commander of the Jasenovac concentration
camp during World War Two in Croatia. He was extradited to Croatia
by the Argentine authorities in June 1998
According to "Politika", the four Yugoslav citizens are afraid to
come to Zagreb, however they are ready to give their statements in
the United States or Croatian embassies in Belgrade.
These conditions were not accepted by the Croatian County Court.
