ZAGREB, Nov 19 (Hina) - The County State Attorney Radovan Santek,
gave a written proposal to the investigating judge of Zagreb's
County Court, who is heading the investigating procedure against
Dinko Sakic, to conclude the case and to submit the investigating
documents to the state attorney's office, so the state attorney
office can make a decision regarding the filing of charges.
Dinko Sakic is a war crime suspect, and former commander of the
Jasenovac concentration camp during World War Two.
Santek believes that there is sufficient relevant evidence
referring to the case of the execution of Dr. Mile Boskovic and
others without even examining four witnesses due to come from the
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY), and one witness from Bosnia-
Herzegovina (BH).
The state attorney also believes that insistence to hear these
witnesses, would only prolong the investigating procedure,
especially since this is a custody case.
Dinko Sakic can be kept in custody for only six months, before a
final decision by the state attorney's office is reached. Sakic was
taken into custody on June 18, 1998 and detained in county prison in
Remetinac, after the Argentine authorities extradited him to
Croatia.
