SARAJEVO, Nov 11 (Hina) - Officials of the Independent Media
Commission (IMC) in Bosnia-Herzegovina (BH) held talks on
Wednesday with commanders of the NATO-led peace Stabilisation
Force (SFOR) "to examine the problem of re-airing the Croatian
Radio Television (HRT) programme on BH territory," reported
Bosnian news agency ONASA.
The meeting among else discussed the "29 disputed radio and
television transmitters which are under the IMC's protection", the
agency reported.
The IMC headquarters' public relations office in Sarajevo did not
comment on that information. The public relations office neither
denied nor confirmed that such a meeting took place.
The IMC was established in June 1998 by a decision of the
international high representative to BH, Carlos Westendorp, to
regulate the legal position of BH media.
One of the IMC's first decisions referred to re-airing HRT's
programme on BH territory, by which IMC gained legal jurisdiction
over 29 transmitters managed by "Eurotel", a company from Mostar.
Those transmitters carry HRT signals in BH. Before the war they were
owned by Sarajevo Radio-Television.
