and MP of the Sabor's Lower House, Drago Krpina, on Friday stood by
his statement made at Thursday's parliamentary session, "that a
high ranking Social Democratic Party official said he had
information regarding the involvement of SDP President Ivica
Racan's involvement in drug trafficking in Croatia".
"I don't know why Racan is angry with me. He should initiate an
internal investigation within his party to see who is 'leaking'
information", said Krpina at a HDZ press conference on Friday.
"I am not claiming that Racan is involved in drug trafficking, but
rather that his party colleague has told me so", Krpina said.
If this is not true then Racan will be given his satisfaction, if
however it is, he should be faced with the repercussions, believes
Krpina.
He further added that the SDP official promised that he would soon
make his statement publicly, adding that he could not reveal the
identity of his informant for security reasons.
Krpina confirmed that Racan had asked for punitive measures for
slander.
