SARAJEVO, Oct 31 (Hina) - A members of the Presidency of Bosnia-
Herzegovina and president of the Croatian Democratic Union of
Bosnia-Herzegovina (HDZ BiH), Ante Jelavic, on Saturday dismissed
accusations that the Croat side in the country supported the
establishment of a third entity in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Croats only insist on the consistent implementation of the Dayton
Agreement, he added.
In an interview for Saturday's issue of the Sarajevo daily "Dnevni
Avaz", Jelavic stressed that the Croat side in Bosnia-Herzegovina
wish to ensure constitutional and legal rights of Croats, as
guaranteed by the peace agreement, and is trying to offer
suggestions to deblock the Croat-Moslem Bosnian Federation.
"We do not wish to turn a blind eye on concrete problems in the
functioning of cantons with a separate regime, and we wish to open
all issues pertaining to the system of internal affairs, education,
local government and self-government, without invading Dayton,"
Jelavic said.
He warned that in the recent times there had been attempts of a
silent review of the Dayton Agreement. As an example he mentioned
the introduction of unified registration plates for Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
All such contentious issues will be discussed at the Constitutional
Court and the European human rights tribunal.
The HDZ BiH opposes the suggested increase of the number of
ministries at the Council of Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina
unless the jurisdiction of the body expands, he stressed.
