OSIJEK, Oct 19 (Hina) - The Croatian Employment Centre will
initiate several lines of credit to spur employment in areas where
displaced persons have returned, and the self-employment of
Croatian Homeland War soldiers, head of the Osijek employment
centre office, Ivan Sudar, said at Monday night's session of the
Administration Committee of the Osijek-Baranja County Association
of Returnees.
Sudar said the credits will first be meant for the self-employment
of Homeland War soldiers involved in agriculture.
During a discussion on the social circumstances in the Croatian
Danube River region, head of the Osijek Office for Refugees and
Displaced Persons, Nada Arbanas, warned that international help
wouldn't be arriving any time soon, because after the year ends, the
International Rescue Committee and the world Lutheran alliance end
their tasks in the Osijek-Baranja County (eastern Croatia). They
have so far been very active in providing assistance to returnees.
