36 CROAT FAMILIES TO RETURN TO TRAVNIK

( Editorial: --> 2353 ) TRAVNIK, Sept 22 (Hina) - Thirty-six Croat families are to return to their homes in Gacice, Brajkovici and Grahovcice in the mainly Bosniak (Moslem) municipality of Travnik, and Bosniak families to Croat-held Vitez, agreed the leaders of the Travnik and Vitez municipalities during a meeting on Tuesday. The meeting was organised by the office of the High Representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina in charge of reconstruction and return, and presided over by Jason Taylor. The Croat families are to return to unoccupied houses in Bukovica on October 10, and the returnees will be helped with accommodation by the international community, Taylor told reporters after the meeting. He stressed that the international community planned to reconstruct 200 Croat and Bosniak houses in the Vitez and Travnik municipalities. The municipal authorities are exclusively responsible for the safety of the returnees, and they have to resolve frequent cases of one family engaging two or more flats or houses. Head of the Travnik municipality, Besim Halilovic, and head of the Vitez municipality, Ivo Garic, expressed satisfaction with the meeting. Halilovic suggested that the reciprocal principle valid for the return of Croats and Bosniaks concerning the municipalities of Travnik, Novi Travnik and Vitez, should be substituted by a global project of return for all refugees, notwithstanding the number of returnees on either side.
