SISAK, Sept 29 (Hina) - The Croatian government's office for
cooperation with the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in
Europe (OSCE) on Tuesday opened a branch office in Sisak, a town
50km south-east of Zagreb.
Welcoming those present, head of the office Tomislav Vidosevic
called on international community representatives to cooperate in
reviving economy in the Sisak area which, he said, is a precondition
for a quality living for returnees.
After opening such OSCE offices in Vukovar and Knin, the Croatian
government again proved it wants to cooperate with the
international community in areas to which refugees and displaced
persons are returning, the UN Secretary-General's representative
in Croatia Souren Seraydarian said.
He added the UN expected further implementation of the Croatian
government's programme for the return.
Seraydarian also hoped Croatian authorities would continue
cooperation with the OSCE after the organisation takes over the
monitoring mandate in eastern Croatia from the UN civil police
support group.
