SARAJEVO, Sept 26 (Hina) - Incumbent chairman of the Presidency of
Bosnia-Herzegovina, Alija Izetbegovic, said Saturday that he was
pleased with the results his Party of Democratic Action (SDA) and
coalitions it had joined achieved in this month's general elections
in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
With his political allies, he will continue to fight for a unified
Bosnia-Herzegovina and democracy within it, as well as for the
consolidation of the state, strengthening of state bodies and
punishment of war criminals to remain priorities, Izetbegovic
said.
Authorities will now even more insist on the return of refugees and
displaced persons to their homes, and personnel changes will occur,
whereby all those who do not understand the importance of this issue
will be dismissed, he stressed.
The Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina will work better now with
Zivko Radisic instead of Krajisnik as the Serb member, Izetbegovic
said.
The Coalition for a Unified and Democratic Bosnia-Herzegovina
received a somewhat less number of votes than in 1996, but it is only
a small decrease in popularity, within tolerant borders,
Izetbegovic said.
