ORASJE/ODZAK/RAVNE-BRCKO, Aug 26 (Hina) - Works on the
rehabilitation of the power supply system in three municipalities
in north-eastern Bosnia began on Tuesday.
The US$265 million-worth project covering the municipalities
Ravne-Brcko, Orasje and Odzak is expected to be completed in four
and a half years.
Present at the start of the rehabilitation were U.S. Ambassador to
Bosnia Richard Kauzlarich, U.S. Agency for International
Development (USAID) director Craig Buck, the Croat member in
Bosnia's collective Presidency Kresimir Zubak, the Power Supply,
Mining and Industry Minister in the Croat-Muslim Federation of
Bosnia-Herzegovina Mirsad Salkic, and the director of the federal
power supply company Sead Spahic.
The aim of the project is to incite displaced persons and refugees
to return to north-eastern Bosnia, as well as to revive economy in
the three municipalities mentioned, said Ambassador Kauzlarich.
