ERDUT, Aug 13 (Hina) - An agreement on the implementation of the
programme for the return of refugees and displaced persons was
signed in Erdut on Thursday.
Erdut (eastern Croatia) municipal commissioner Stevan Babic,
County coordinator and author of the agreement, Jozo Juros, and
chief of the international migration organisation RAP, Stephen
Wajtkamp, who signed the agreement, said Erdut had created
conditions for entering the programme because it implemented
multi-ethnicity, the local self-government was functional and a
good programme for the return had been drafted.
The DM1 million will be set aside for street lighting in the whole of
the Erdut municipality, the Aljmas waterworks, utilities and the
purchase of fire engines.
Juros stressed that 400 cases had been registered so far in which
returnees had obtained their property from temporary tenants.
