MOSTAR, July 27 (Hina) - Croat officials in Mostar and the
Herzegovina-Neretva Canton on Monday discussed the Mostar plan of
return.
They concluded that the plan should be adopted unconditionally, the
Bosnian Croat news agency Habena said.
The plan stipulates that 200 Croat houses currently engaged by
Bosniaks (Moslems), in Mostar's neighbourhoods of Polje and Bijelo
Polje, be vacated. The Bosniaks that would leave the houses have to
be found adequate accommodation.
The Croat officials did not accept a motion by the chief of the
Mostar Office of the International High Representative, Martin
Garrod, that houses be built for these Bosniaks in Stolac and
Capljina, in exchange for their vacating the Bijelo Polje houses.
In relation to the return of displaced persons into Mostar's
municipalities with a Croat majority, heads of these
municipalities said that the return of Bosniaks was in progress and
that the plan of return has been fully implemented in the
municipality of Jug, Habena said.
