SIBENIK SEA PATROL ARRESTS FIVE GERMAN TOURISTS

( Editorial: --> 3421 ) SIBENIK, 13 Aug (Hina) - Five Germans were arrested on Wednesday by a Sibenik sea patrol under suspicion of causing a fire which broke out on the north-east part of Zlarin island yesterday afternoon. After local residents informed the police of having seen an illuminating rocket being fired from a red speed-boat in the direction of Zlarin, all ships were warned to look out for a red speed-boad. Shortly after the warning, a police boat "Zecevo" which was carrying Culture Ministry workers to a location near the island of Zirje, escorted the red speed boat into the port of Zlarin. The police found five German tourists on board as well as substance for filling illuminating rockets. The tourists were taken to a police station for further investigation. They are facing the testimonies of two witnesses who said to have seen the firing of the rocket towards the fire scene. The German tourists face large fines and possible banishment.
