TRAFFIC INTENSIFIED ALONG ADRIATIC COAST

( Editorial: --> 2008 ) ZAGREB, Aug 6 (Hina) - Traffic in all of Croatia is of medium to higher intensity in Istria and on the road running along the Adriatic coast, the Croatian Motor Club reported Wednesday night. A high number of vehicles entering Croatia have been registered at the border crossing of Goricani and other border crossings with Slovenia and Hungary. The bridge linking the island of Krk (northern Adriatic) with continental Croatia is closed for buses, trailers, motorcycles, vans and cargo vehicles due to a gale. The ferries Fortica-Miletici and Baska-Lopar are not operating due to a strong gale. Around 8.30pm last night, all ferry lines towards the island of Pag were cancelled. Border crossings towards Grude, Vitina, Ljubuski and Capljina in Herzegovina are closed because they have been blocked by Herzegovina farmers dissatisfied with a change of conditions for the sale of their goods in Croatia.
