ZAGREB, Aug 4 (Hina) - An exhibition of war photographs entitled
"Storm '95" was opened on Tuesday in the "Zvonimir" gallery at the
Defence Ministry headquarters in Zagreb.
On behalf of Defence Minister Andrija Hebrang, Brigadier Dusan Viro
opened the exhibition and sent best wishes for tomorrow's Homeland
Gratitude Day.
He emphasised how this exhibition was a reminder of all those who
sacrificed their lives for Croatia, and who must never be
forgotten.
The exhibited photographs were taken during the military operation
"Storm" in the summer of 1995, and the authors were Croatian Army
photographers as well as Croatian soldiers taking part in the
action.
Viro said that despite the battles, Croatian soldiers had succeeded
in recording everything which had occurred during and after the
operation.
Visitors to the exhibition can see photographs of the 125th Brigade
in action near Cerovlje, seized ammunition in Korenica, Petrinja
and Glina (central Croatia), the sanitation of the terrain in
Korenica, Interior Ministry special police in action in the Lika
region and the surrender of the rebel Serbs' 21st corps, as well as
the liberation of Croatian towns including Petrinja, Slunj, Glina,
Knin and Dvor na Uni.
The exhibition will be open during August.
