GLINA, July 15 (Hina) - Croatian Reconstruction and Development
Minister Jure Radic on Wednesday held talks with Sisak-Moslavina
County Prefect Djuro Brodarac and representatives of the local
authorities.
The talks focused on the implementation of the programme for the
return of displaced people and refugees.
The meeting stressed satisfaction with the reconstruction of
destroyed houses and infrastructure in the county to date as well as
with the work of the Agency for Facilitating Real Estate
Transactions, Radic said.
He said he had been told by the Croat refugees from the Bosnian Serb
entity, now living in Sisak County, that they could and would not
return to their pre-war homes because they were destroyed,
plundered or occupied.
The Bosnian Croat refugees also said they would not be guaranteed
minimum security conditions.
The Croatian authorities have to respect that wish and the will of
the settlers and their families because the return must be
voluntary, Radic said.
Croatia must care for these people and help them have a dignified
life in Croatia, he added.
The local administration and self-government have to establish
housing commissions and draft reconstruction programmes by the end
of this month, said Radic during his talks with Sisak County
officials.
