ZAGREB, June 23 (Hina) - The Croatian Government and the Nordic
Investment Bank (NIB) signed an in-principle cooperation agreement
in Zagreb on Tuesday.
The agreement specifies the terms of long-term investment loans to
state-owned and private companies. The total funds available are
two billion ECU.
The NIB is an international financial institution owned by the five
Nordic countries, i.e. Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and
Sweden.
The NIB sees the agreement as a step towards the strengthening of
economic cooperation in investment projects of mutual interest
between the Nordic countries and Croatia, the Finance Ministry
reports.
Given Croatia's keen need for financing the development of road and
railway infrastructure and for assistance to agriculture and other
sectors, the Finance Ministry of Finance said it finds the
agreement very useful.
