SARAJEVO, June 23 (Hina) - One-hundred-and-fifty tonnes of
humanitarian aid has been sent from Bosnia-Herzegovina to Albania
via an eight-day air link established by UNHCR which ends Sunday.
This aid has already been delivered to Kosovo refugees who have
arrived in northern Albania in great numbers.
Spokeswoman for the UNHCR in Sarajevo, Ariane Quentier, on Tuesday
said that there have been 16 flights between Sarajevo and Tirana and
two from Zagreb with planes secured by Norway and Belgium.
The UN aid consisted of non-food products, while 547 tonnes of food
was secured by the World Food Programme (WFP).
It is estimated that this shipment will be enough to feed 10,000
refugees for the next three months.
WFP today sent 145 tonnes of food from warehouses in Ploce and
Sarajevo to Montenegro, which has experienced a great flood of
refugees from Kosovo.
