PRISTINA, June 9 (Hina) - The pro-government Media Centre in
Pristina reported on Monday that one Yugoslav soldier was killed
while another three were wounded in yesterday's attack of an armed
group of Albanians on a military vehicle near the villages of
Smolica and Popovce, west of Djakovica.
Citing army sources, the Media Centre said that the attack was
carried out from a rocket launcher.
Members of the Yugoslav border units responded to the attack.
One Serbian police officer and a civilian were wounded on Monday
near the villages of Banje and Suvo Grlo in the Drenica
municipality. The Serbian authorities blame Albanians for this.
The Kosovo Democratic Alliance in Decani on Monday reported that
six Albanians were killed while another 15 were wounded in the
village of Gornji Carabreg, Decani municipality, in the recent
Serbian military and police operations.
The same source reported that the town was under siege by the
Serbian forces, leaving almost 500 Decani residents trapped in
their houses.
