NEW ATTACKS BY SERB FORCES ON ALBANIAN VILLAGES

( Editorial: --> 6282 ) PRISTINA, May 25 (Hina) - The Democratic Alliance of Kosovo has informed that on Monday morning Serb forces began a new round of shelling on five Albanian villages in the municipality of Klina, which were the target of attacks in the last few days. According to information from the Kosovo Information Centre, Serb forces this morning again bombarded the village of Lausha, about 50km west of Pristina, which has been under police siege since March 5. Yesterday afternoon eight houses were hit in a heavy attack on that village. For now there is no news of possible victims. From the municipality of Klina, Albanian sources yesterday reported a four-hour Serb attack by cannons and other weapons on the village of Cerovik, near the Pristina-Pec road. Yesterday the village of Lepushnik, near that road, was also shelled. The Kosovo Information Centre said that the situation in villages bordering with Albania in the Djakovica municipality is still very tense. About 50 trucks with soldiers and numerous weaponry have turned towards the villages of Morina, Ponosevac, Pepoce, Smolica and others. From Djakovica news arrived that political and humanitarian officials are warning the international community that there is a shortage of food and medicine for more than 6,000 refugees accommodated on that territory. The pro- Yugoslav government Media Centre reported that two Serb police officers had gone missing not far from the village of Babaloc, near Decani. It is assumed that they have been captured by a group of armed Albanians who last week, as alleged by this Serbian source, carried out some armed actions on the Decani territory.
