ZAGREB, June 7 (Hina) - Hina will host the 33rd annual conference of
the International Press Telecommunications Council which opens in
Zagreb Monday.
Hina has been an IPTC member since 1995.
Attending this year's conference will be some 30 technical
directors or technical representatives from the largest news
agencies in Europe and the world.
The IPTC is an international organisation which gathers the
principal national and international news agencies, such as
Reuters, AFP, DPA, AP, UPI, Kyodo, Dow Jones and others. Members
also include renowned news publishers and some equipment
manufacturers.
The IPTC was established 1965 with the aim to protect the world news
agencies' interests in telecommunications. With the advancement of
information technology for data processing and transfer, the IPTC
has concentrated on creating standards for the exchange of news,
photographs, audio, video and multimedia recordings in
journalism.
The Zagreb conference will focus on the above mentioned topics.
Hina will outline its experience and suggestions, and present its
latest system of data processing and transfer for its users.
The opening of this year's conference will take place in Zagreb's
Sheraton Hotel and will close June 11.
