ZAGREB, May 21 (Hina) - Television Moslavina (TVM) management on
Thursday reiterated its request for an urgent temporary permit to
change transmission locations.
TVM dismissed Wednesday's announcement by its general director
that the television station would return the transmitter to its
former location and would begin broadcasting this week.
The Croatian Telecommunications Ministry ten days ago banned TVM (a
local television station in Kutina, 70km southeast of Zagreb) from
broadcasting, because the station had moved its transmitter to a
location for which it did not have a broadcasting permit.
The Ministry issued a statement Wednesday which was signed by TVM
general director Zvonimir Kabelka saying that he had agreed with
Deputy Telecommunications Minister Dominik Filipovic that the
transmitter would be returned to its previous location and the
station would continue broadcasting.
The TV Moslavina Board of Supervisors, however, opposed the general
director's right to sign such an agreement, and initiated a
disciplinary action against Kabelka for contempt of the TVM
assembly's decisions.
TVM marketing director Zoran Kovacic told reporters Thursday that
returning the transmitter to its former location was a technically
impossible task, because the cooling equipment was barely
sufficient for the Radio Moslavina transmitter also located
there.
