HDZ OF BH DELEGATION TALKS WITH CROATIAN OFFICIALS

( Editorial: --> 9193 ) ZAGREB, June 5 (Hina) - Under the chairmanship of Franjo Tudjman, President of the Republic of Croatia and President of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), a meeting was held between the Croatian state leadership, a delegation of the HDZ in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croat officials in the bodies of the B-H Federation and Bosnia- Herzegovina. The meeting discussed current events in HDZ in B-H following its fifth convention as well as preparations for upcoming elections at cantonal, Federal and State levels, said a statement from the President's Office. Following the HDZ of B-H convention, a group of prominent members of the party announced the establishment of a new party which as they said would be based on the original platform of the HDZ of B-H. At the meeting in Zagreb on Friday a conclusion stating the necessity of maintaining a united HDZ and a single roster at the upcoming elections was unanimously supported. This is significant for the maintenance of a united Croat people in B-H, as well a necessary precondition for maintaining the Croat people's presence in that country, and the constitution and sovereignty of Bosnia- Herzegovina, said the statement. At the meeting of the main committee of the HDZ of B-H which is to be held on 11 June, the Statute of HDZ will be supplemented in such a way to expand the Presidency to include representatives of all cantons. The suggestion to select Mijo Brajkovic, Bozo Ljubic and Stjepan Mikic for the three additional vice-presidential positions was supported.
