BELI MANASTIR, May 31 (Hina) - Croatian Health Minister Zeljko
Reiner on Sunday visited Beli Manastir (eastern Slavonia), where he
attended a ceremony marking the beginning of reconstruction works
on the community health centre.
Reiner was accompanied by Vice Premiers Ljerka Mintas-Hodak and
Ivica Kostovic, Defence Minister Andrija Hebrang, Croatian
Homeland War Defenders' Minister Juraj Njavro, head of the Health
Insurance Fund Stjepan Turek, Osijek county officials and health
workers.
The head of the Beli Manastir Health Centre, Zarko Zelic, stressed
that the forthcoming reconstruction of health centres in Baranja
would also include regional health offices in Batina, Lug,
Zmajevac, Baranjsko Petrovo Selo and Ceminac.
The Croatian Government wants to show that it cares for this war-
ravaged area and contribute to the normalisation of life, Vice
Premier Mintas-Hodak said.
The Health Ministry will invest more than five million kuna in the
reconstruction of health institutions in Baranja, Health Minister
Reiner said, adding this was not the final figure.
"We will rebuild all that was destroyed during the occupation,
probably with the assistance from the Council of Europe," Reiner
added.
