ZELJKO REINER'S BIOGRAPHY

( Editorial: --> 3906 ) ZAGREB, May 14 (Hina) - Dr Zeljko Reiner, who was nominated for the office of new Health Minister by Premier Zlatko Matesa on Thursday, held the office of Deputy Health Minister from 1993 to date. Since 1996 Reiner has been a member of the World Health Organisation Executive Committee. He was born in Zagreb in 1953. He graduated from the Zagreb University Medical Faculty in 1976 and specialised in internal medicine in 1983. In 1988 Reiner became a full-time professor at the department for pathophysiology of the Zagreb Medical Faculty and in 1995 head of the clinic for internal diseases at the Zagreb Clinical Centre "Rebro". He specialised in endocrinology the same year. Reiner has published 160 scientific works in the field of internal medicine, especially concerning endocrinology and metabolism disorders.
