ZAGREB, May 30 (Hina) - Croatia's special police forces and
Austria's gendarmerie have agreed on cooperation in fighting
terrorism, organised crime, drug trafficking and in protecting
borders.
An Austrian police delegation, led by its commander, Gen. Johann
Seiser, on Wednesday completed a three-day working visit to
Croatia.
Croatia is especially interested in Austria's experience in the
protection of borders, in particular after May 1, when Austria
opened its borders towards countries of the Schengen agreement and
intensified protection of its borders towards East European
countries.
Croatia's special police members are to visit an Austrian special
police unit for the protection of borders, set up in the last three
years.
