ZAGREB, May 20 (Hina) - Reporters Without Frontiers has expressed
concern over the closing down of TV Moslavina, a local station based
in Kutina, 70km south-east of Zagreb, and demanded that it start
broadcasting again.
The independent organisation defending freedom of the media in the
world Wednesday forwarded a letter to Croatian Communications
Minister Zeljko Luzavec.
The letter said that on May 11 the authorities closed down TV
Moslavina and withdrew its two-year licence.
The station's management estimates a 'political measure' is at
hand. The possibility of lodging a complaint is not envisaged in the
proceedings.
Reporters Without Frontiers forwarded copies of its letter to the
Croatian President, the Croatian Foreign Minister and numerous
international organisations as well.
