ZAGREB, 14 May (Hina)- Professor of Law, Dr Milan Ramljak,
Croatia's current ambassador to Austria, was nominated on Thursday
for the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice by
Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa. Dr Ramljak was appointed ambassador
by President Tudjman on 15 March 1994.
Ramljak was Croatian Deputy Prime Minister between 1990 and 1992.
He also headed a state commission for UNPROFOR.
Dr Ramljak was born on 29 September 1938 in Citluk, a town in the
municipality of Posusje, Bosnia-Herzegovina. After primary
education in Posusje, Ramljak attended high school in Zagreb. He
got his M.A. degree from Zagreb University's Law Faculty in 1965 and
Ph.D in 1973. After that he taught law at the same school.
During the academic year 1984-1985, Ramljak spent six months at the
Institute for Public Administration of the University for
Administrative Studies in Speyer, Germany.
Ramljak has published 60 research papers and articles.
