BUENOS AIRES/ZAGREB, April 14 (Hina) - The Argentinean Justice
Minister Raul Granillo Ocampo confirmed his government's decision
to enable the extradition of Dinko Sakic after Croatian officials
hand over an official request for extradition to the Argentinean
authorities, the Argentinean Justice Ministry said in a statement
on Monday.
Ocampo announced that cooperation between Argentina and Croatia
would cover a wide area.
Argentina's Justice Ministry yesterday received Croatian
Ambassador Neda Saric-Rosandic, who confirmed that the Croatian
authorities were working on a request for extradition, which will
be submitted to the Argentinean authorities, the same source said.
If the charges saying Sakic ordered the killing of thousands of
Serbs, Jews and Gypsies during World War II prove to be true, we will
not hesitate to enable his extradition, Ocampo said.
After a half-an-hour meeting, Ocampo drew a parallel between his
government's stand in the Priebke case and a decision which would be
made as regards Sakic, the statement said.
