ZAGREB, April 25 (Hina) - The Croatian and Slovak Cultural
Societies organised the presentation of the book "Croats in Central
Europe" by Kvetoslava Kucerova, in Zagreb on April 21.
The book sheds light on the complex question of migration of Croats
in the 16th century.
The book was presented by Kresimir Mikolcic, secretary with the
Croatian Cultural Society, the president of the Slovak Cultural
Society branch in Zagreb, Zlatko Jevak, historians Ivan Kampus and
Bozena Vranjes-Soljan and the author herself.
Before this book, Kucerova wrote some 80 essays on Croatian
history.
"This is an exceptional case of ardent and committed work on the
question of Croats in Central Europe done by a Slovak woman," said
Kampus, adding that the central topic of the book is the settlement
of Croats in Slovakia, a question that has not been dealt with until
now.
The book is a valuable contribution to the history of the Croat
people, said Kampus.
"The book by Kvetoslava Kucerova confirms the hundred-years long
presence of Croats in Central Europe as well as manifold ties
between the Croatian and Slovak peoples".
Kucerova thanked for support in publishing the book, especially the
Croatian Culture Ministry and painter Ivan Lackovic Croata who did
the illustrations.
