ZAGREB, April 20 (Hina) - All aspects of implementation of the Erdut
agreement on the reintegration of eastern Croatia were discussed in
Zagreb on Monday in a meeting between Croatian Prime Minister
Zlatko Matesa and UN Under Secretary-General for Peacekeeping
Operations, Bernard Miyet.
In a statement released following the meeting, Miyet said they had
discussed the activities of the UN Transitional Police support
group in eastern Slavonia and the transfer of UN duties to the
Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) during
the forthcoming months.
We discussed these issues with the purpose of building stronger
reconciliation and a good future for all of the population in the
country no matter what ethnic group they belong to, the high-
ranking United Nations official said.
Emphasising that the talks were open and friendly, Miyet said he
would be meeting Foreign Minister Mate Granic on Tuesday.
