ZAGREB, April 19 (Hina) - A group of Swedish women of Croatian
descent visited Zagreb on Saturday and were received by the
Croatian National Parliament deputy speaker, Jadranka Kosor.
Kosor invited the guests to return to Croatia and stressed Croatian
immigrants' contribution to the establishment of the independent
and democratic Croatia.
Kosor talked about the role of women in Croatia's political and
public life, adding that women were not represented sufficiently in
politics, especially compared to Sweden.
Speaking about the help Croatia had been receiving during the war
from Croatians in Sweden and other parts of the world, Kosor thanked
all Croatians abroad for their support during the toughest years,
when the Croatian state was being established and when refugees had
to be taken care of.
The members of the Croatian Association in Sweden also visited
Medjugorje during the past several days.
