REMAINS OF 31 PEOPLE EXHUMED IN MOSTAR

( Editorial: --> 0309 ) MOSTAR, March 17 (Hina) - Thirty-one bodies of unidentified people killed in the war have been exhumed from a Muslim cemetery in Balinovac, a suburb in the Croat-held western part of Mostar, the chairman of Bosnia-Herzegovina's State Commission for Finding Missing Persons, Amor Masovic, told Hina on Tuesday. Excavation started on Monday and will continue tomorrow because it is believed there are still 15 another to 20 bodies buried in the cemetery, Masovic said. It is the first post-war exhumation in west Mostar, and Masovic announced that in the next two weeks there would be excavations at Muslim graveyards in Capljina and Prozor. An investigating judge from Bosniak (Muslim) controlled east Mostar, Halil Maksumic, who is leading exhumations in the western part of the city, said the exhumations were being secured by SFOR troops and joint police from the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton Interior Ministry and that there had not been any incidents.
