ZAGREB, April 15 (Hina) - The president of the Croatian
Constitutional Court, Jadranko Crnic, on Wednesday judged
yesterday's working meeting of the Croatian and Slovenian
Constitutional Courts delegations as extremely useful.
The meeting, initiated by the Slovenian Constitutional Court, was
held in Otocec, Slovenia.
The two delegations exchanged experiences from constitutional
legal practice and agreed on further cooperation, said Crnic.
It was also said that many issues in the transitional period of the
two countries were very similar and that exchange of experience in
court practice was valuable, he added.
Problems of protection and ownership transformation are similar in
both countries and exchange of experience in concrete decisions
contributes to a fuller consideration of those constitutional-
legal problems, especially as regards protection of basic human
rights and freedoms, freedoms of citizens and application of
international documents, Crnic said.
Asked about the concrete examples of cooperation between the two
constitutional courts, Crnic said they were exchange of more
important decisions, participation in advisory sessions organised
by constitutional courts and joint participation in international
meetings.
Delegations of the two constitutional courts meet at least twice a
year, said Crnic.
