SARAJEVO, Mar 22 (Hina) - Sarajevo police Saturday arrested Milomir
Tepes, a Bosnian Serb suspected of war crimes.
According to a statement the Bosnian Ministry of Interior Affairs
issued Sunday, the 29-year-old Tepes was arrested yesterday on the
territory of the Croat-Muslim Federation on the basis of a warrant
the Sarajevo Canton Court issued in agreement with the
international war crimes tribunal.
Immediately after the arrest, Tepes was surrendered to the Canton
Court, the statement said, adding the International Police Task
Force had been notified about the matter.
Tepes was criminally charged three years ago by the then Security
Services Centre in Sarajevo. He was suspected of committing several
war crimes in Pale and Ustikolina as a member of a paramilitary
unit.
Tepes is not on the list of suspected war criminals whose arrest has
been ordered by the war crimes tribunal in The Hague. According to
Sunday media reports, the arrest took place early Saturday morning
and was the result of a long-planned Sarajevo police action.
