BUDAPEST, Mar 26 (Hina)- A three day conference on anti-personnel
mines commenced on Thursday in Budapest. Hungarian Foreign
Minister Laszlo Kovacs announced that Hungary, Germany and Croatia
would jointly demine parts of the Croatian Danube region. The
project could also be joined by Norway, said Kovacs.
Head of the Croatian delegation, Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir
Drobnjak, said that Croatia, as a country burdened by the need to
demine parts of its territory, had high expections from the
conference. For that purpose Croatia should be rightly entitled to
international aid, said Vladimir Drobnjak.
