GOVERNMENT ESTABLISHES PENSION REFORM COMMISSION

( Editorial: --> 8268 ) ZAGREB, Mar 9 (Hina) - The Croatian Government Monday set up an expert and advisory commission to carry out pension reform. The commission's tasks will be carried out by a council and two groups of economic and financial experts and experts for pension insurance. Alongside coordinating the two groups' work, the council will tackle pension reform issues and present its opinions to the government and other state bodies. The commission's working groups will take part in drafting a final bill on pension insurance, and will prepare other laws in the field. The first working group will draft a bill on compulsory and voluntary pension insurance on the basis of individual capitalised saving for old age, while the second group will draft accompanying pension laws. The pension reform implementation commission's council includes commission coordinator Vice-Premier Ljerka Mintas-Hodak, Finance Minister Borislav Skegro, Labour and Social Welfare Minister Joso Skara, Privatisation Minister Milan Kovac, Assistant Privatisation Minister Damir Ostovic and Faculty of Law professor Zeljko Potocnjak.
