SARAJEVO, Feb 6 (Hina) - The vice-president of the Council of
Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Neven Tomic, on Friday requested
the international High Representative for the implementation of
the Dayton peace agreement to exert his authority and do his utmost
to unfreeze the Council's work.
In a letter to Carlos Westendorp, Tomic requested the High
Representative's assistance in implementing the law on the Council
of Ministers. The delay in its implementation makes the enforcement
of other laws and memorandums impossible.
Tomic requested Westendorp to assist in the adoption of a rule book
on the internal organisation of the Council of Ministers, rule
books of the ministries, and the budget for 1998. Unless these are
adopted, he said, any work on new projects is futile.
Tomic also called on the High Representative to declare as valid a
law on foreign investments as suggested by representatives of the
international community.
