KNIN, Feb 9 (Hina) - US Ambassador to Croatia William Montgomery on
Monday visited Knin to gain full knowledge into the return of
refugees to and the overall social and political situation in the
area.
The return of refugees is an issue which no country in the region can
solve alone, Montgomery said after meeting Knin Mayor Milivoj
Tomas.
Montgomery said there would be no lasting stability in this part of
Europe as long as refugee issues remained unsolved.
The ambassador promised the US would provide assistance in seeking
ways to improve the overall situation in this area.
Tomas said 3,500 of Serb nationality had returned to the Knin area.
The number is increasing, he pointed out.
