RIJEKA, 9 Feb (Hina) - Rijeka Mayor Slavko Linic received the
Italian Ambassador to Croatia, Francesco Olivieri, on Monday.
Present at the meeting were representative of the Italian national
minority in the Croatian National Parliament Furio Radin, future
Italian General-Consul to Rijeka Mario Musella, as well as leaders
of the Italian Union and Rijeka's Association of Italians.
Linic thanked Olivieri for his contribution to the strengthening of
bilateral relations between Croatia and Italy.
The Rijeka Association of Italians and its cultural institutions
can in all regards be an example of quality work for other
associations of national minorities that live in Rijeka and the
rest of Croatia, said Linic thanking the Italian government for its
assistance in the restoration of the Association's headquarters
"Palazzo Modello" - which is also a valuable cultural monument.
Olivieri emphasised the interest Italian economists have for
investment in Croatia, especially Rijeka, as well his satisfaction
with the Italian national community in Rijeka for achieving
exceptional quality dialogue with city authorities and closer
association with the majority population.
