SARAJEVO, Jan 16 (Hina) - The international High Representative for
the implementation of the Dayton peace agreement on Friday
requested an investigation against Gojko Klickovic, former premier
of the Bosnian Serb Republic, due to suspicions that in his
statements he incited the worst form of violence.
According to High Representative Carlos Westendorp's spokesman
Simon Haselock, the High Representative's request was forwarded to
the highest officials of the Bosnian Serb entity and to Bosnian
Presidency Serb member Momcilo Krajisnik.
The request was forwarded following an interview Klickovic gave to
Montenegrin television channel Sky Satelite, in which he said that
"certain people would be liquidated" if necessary to ensure a
united police activity in the Bosnian Serb republic.
Klickovic said these were "several people in Banja Luka and Pale".
Westendorp believed such statements represented a criminal offence
and a threat to the implementation of the peace agreement.
The High Representative wanted to make sure that Klickovic be
denied any public office in the Bosnian Serb republic and a
candidacy at the September election.
Haselock said Westendorp's office no longer recognised Klickovic
as premier of the government at Pale, which is to be replaced with a
new one after the parliament appoints a new prime minister.
